Double success for SUNfarming

The general meeting of the Potsdam Canoe and Sport Boat Club "Wassersportfreunde Pirschheide e.V." agreed on Friday with a large majority to the SUNfarming Direct Electricity Concept with roof renovation subsidy.

For years, the SUNfarming Group has been committed to promoting children's, youth and competitive sport in canoe racing. The general meeting of the Potsdam homeland association of our managing partner Martin Tauschke voted by a large majority on 17 May for the implementation of the SUNfarming Direct Electricity Concept without own investment, together with a subsidy for the roof renovation from the one-off lease.

The financial possibilities of many sports clubs are just sufficient to secure the daily training and competition operation, also thanks to a high honorary commitment. For refurbishments due, there is usually no or not enough capital available. The SUNfarming Direct Electricity Concept significantly relieves the sports club - the one-off lease payments under the roof lease cover a large part of the roof renovation costs due and, in addition, reduce the electricity costs by 10% for the kilowatt hours consumed in the following years. The investment of the solar system takes over the SUNfarming, so that there are no costs to the clubs here.

"I am pleased that I can give my home club the opportunity of the SUNfarming Direct Electricity Concept with roof renovation subsidy via SUNfarming. With a planned installation of 475 kWp, we can provide the association with approx. 50% of the annual electricity consumption of approx. 60,000 kWh, which is 10% cheaper than the current procurement costs. The excess solar energy is fed into the public grid. The implementation of the project is planned for the second half of this year, "says Martin Tauschke, Managing Director of SUNfarming GmbH. There are still many canoe and other sports clubs not only in the state of Brandenburg, which face similar challenges. Of course, SUNfarming also offers the same concept to them - please contact us.

Martin Tauschke thanks his Potsdam hometown club and wins the silver medal at 200m in a one-kayak at the weekend - a double success for SUNfarming and the Potsdam Canoe Club.

Successful Intersolar 2019 for SUNfarming

In 2019, the SUNfarming Group again participated with a competent team at the world's leading trade fair for the solar industry.

As every year, the interest in our products and projects has been great and our SUN farmers have had many concrete discussions with local and international partners from Europe, Africa and Latin America in order to initiate projects and to further develop current projects. In addition, contacts with suppliers and technical production partners and banks as well as international financing institutions were expanded. The DKB (Deutsche Kreditbank AG) and the ING Bank visited our stand, as well as the international banks FMO (Dutch Development Bank) and the World Bank subsidiary IFC, to discuss the development of relations in the financing of German and international projects of the SUNfarming Group.

Delegations, among others from Angola, Brazil and the Congo, learned in conversations with our expert project managers about the outstanding developmental possibilities of our product
"SUNfarming Food & Energy".

"The demand for on-roof PV systems for commercial and industrial plants with an installed capacity of less than 750 kWp has risen sharply. From December 2018 to February 2019, we completed 9.14 megawatts. Together with the ground-mounted systems with less than 750 kWp, we have a volume of approx. 20 MW in Germany alone, which we realized in our own investment in the last six months, "explains Martin Hinneburg, Head of Purchasing and Calculation.

"We are very satisfied with the fair days! In addition to existing customer care, we were able to make many new contacts, which will be very helpful to us on the path of internationalization of the project business. We will exhibit again at Intersolar next year, "says Martin Tauschke, CEO of SUNfarming.

Training at Solar Training Center

We can help you become a solar PV expert!

The SUNfarming/Alensys Solar Training Center South Africa is now in operation since more than 5 years and was realised within a PPP Public Private Partnership program supported by the German DEG/KfW. The most important partner is the North-West University in Potchefstroom.

The SUNfarming Solar Food & Energy Training Centre, already in the 3rd year of operation after completion of the Public Private Partnership, offers training opportunities for students, electricians, teachers from high schools as well as start-up companies and municipal representatives from different regions and departments in South Africa. The training centre, continuously in further expansion for more training opportunities, is in full time operation and delivers fresh vegetables to the North West University Campus, a food store in Potchefstroom (Pick&Pay) as well as several catering service companies.
All SF bio food products with grade A quality are supplied to the prime quality customer Pick&Pay, all secondary quality products are directly marketed by the local SUNfarming trainees and employees in the township locations of Potchefstroom. With this, the employees earn some extra money and thus become small entrepreneurs, partially with own employers already.

The training facility was transferred to our expert skills transfer company SUNCybernetics PTY LTD (SUNCy), under the lead of North West University doctoral student Faure van Schalkwyk. This training company is exclusively used for know-how and skills transfer in the fields of solar technology and food production, operating on a cost covering, non-profit base to ensure constant high quality trainings.
After 6 years of experience, we can confirm the effectiveness of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) with its cooperative structures like DEG/KfW, and German Medium Size Companies, like SUNfarming and Alensys, for a continuous education and training program, as long as the PPP investment is kept in the hand of the German Medium Size Company.

More than 1,000 training sessions have been held so far at the SF Solar Training Center and SF Food & Energy Training Center for participants from across Africa.

New Hamburg residential district relies on SUNfarming solar roofs

In the past 1 ½ years, 36 newly built energy-efficient houses belonging to the developer BONAVA have been equipped with SUNfarming PV systems in the south of Hamburg.

The roofs of 8 single-family houses, 14 duplex-houses and 14 townhouses now provide regional, renewable electricity for the residents. As the plants deliver more than they consume, excess green electricity can be fed into the grid.
The Swedish word "bo" means living, and "nav" means center. BONAVA does not just want to build houses but create a home for the residents in a pleasant environment in which they feel comfortable. This includes a sustainable supply of renewable solar energy. 1016 SUNfarming quality modules bring a total capacity of 300 kWp. With the SF AS-295-60M black frame modules, BONAVA has opted for frameless modules that fit seamlessly into the overall architectural concept. Every year, a considerable 159,128.00 kg of CO2 are saved and thus make a contribution to the energy transition.

As was the case in the past, the costs of purchasing electricity are set to rise further.
Solar electricity is already the cheapest source of energy worldwide.

Benefits for BONAVA and its residents through SUNfarming photovoltaik on its own roof

o Partial own energy supply for approximately 10 cent/Kwh via unique SUNfarming quality assurance system
o Up to 20 years of cost security with your own solar electricity
o Immediate cost benefit through long-term fall in ancillary costs
o 100 % greener electricity
o Offensive marketing argument with the protection of fossil energy sources
o No additional or hidden costs
o High quality technology and installation
o Option on innovative SUNfarming electricity storage technology
o Security of supply, independence from energy suppliers abroad
o Own electricity from the roof for electromobility and your own vehicle fleet
